My mother and father have lived in their home for 38 years. They are both retired, and my father has advanced Parkinson’s disease. As with many in their generation, they had utilized a second mortgage at some point and therefore still had monthly mortgage payments. The payments had become a serious concern for my mother as they were very steep and she knew that once my father passed that her monthly income would be reduced. She had been contacted by a lender at her bank, one of the big four in the United States, and he was offering her a very attractive refinance which would make a hugely positive impact on her monthly expenses. She began going through all of the hoops and was excited to make such a good change, but was let down when the bank informed her that her credit score was too low and they could not help her. She found herself embarrassed, and ashamed.
The banker, who could have avoided embarrassing her by simply running her credit at the beginning, was kind enough to recommend her to Sean Price. With all the correct information in place, Sean had a much better grasp on my mother’s financial situation, and he began to work toward a solution.
My mother is a very private person, but Sean presented himself in a professional yet very accessible manner, which made her feel instantly comfortable. He was able to take the necessary time to analyze her credit and find the things that were damaging and discuss each item with her. He seemed to treat her situation as a puzzle that simply needed someone to figure out where each piece belongs. Sean took her situation and then utilized his vast knowledge to find a number of refinance options for her. He then took the time to discuss each option with her, explaining the positive and negative aspects of each. He didn’t seem to be selling anything, he simply seemed like someone trying to help out by using the tools he has available.
Sean is someone who cares, someone who makes the time to care, and this is probably the most valuable trait someone in his industry can exhibit. The process has become so regulated that the borrowers feel as though they are just stripping in front of the bankers. It is arduous, and it can also be humiliating. Sean is the example of how the process ought to work. With caring and compassion mixed with professionalism and knowledge, Sean was able to truly help my family. We will forever be grateful for his patience and kindness
